Mesh Fabric
This modern design uses mesh fabric that wraps around the entire circumference of the hat, allowing cooling winds to reach your head from all directions while effectively pulling moisture away. The mesh fabric is available in multiple solid colors as well as camouflage prints.
Eyelets
Traditional boonie hat design with 4x eyelets that maintains solid fabric coverage and camouflage. An excellent choice for colder climates and inclement weather, as the smaller eyelets prevent cold wind and rain from penetrating while still allowing enough heat to escape.
Size Adjustment
The cord lock at the back allows you to adjust the size of the boonie. Since we tailor them in 1 cm increments (ranging from 54 to 64 cm, plus custom sizes), we recommend choosing the exact size that matches your head circumference. If you’re between two sizes, opt for the larger one.
If you prefer a looser fit, consider ordering one size larger than your head circumference. You can also choose an oversized fit if you plan on wearing additional layers, such as a beanie or hearing protection (headsets), underneath. Each boonie, regardless of size, can theoretically be adjusted down to the smallest size (54 cm) – however, we do not recommend making large adjustments, as this may cause the boonie to lose its shape and become wrinkled.
In a pinch, you can also remove the paracord and cord lock to use them for other tasks, like tying something down.
Customizable Brim
The integrated metal wires at the front and back of the brim allow you to adjust the brim shape to your preferences, depending on whether you need more concealment or more visibility.
Reversible Boonies
Reversible Boonies allow you to alternate between 2 camouflage patterns in seconds. Both sides feature identical vegetation loops for attaching scrim kits or natural foliage. While these boonies don’t offer size adjustment, they do include a chinstrap for securing it in place. You can also use the chin strap to pinch the sides of the brim upward.
Vegetation Loops
We’ve covered every part of the boonie with vegetation loops, allowing you to attach Scrim Kits or natural vegetation to disrupt the outlines of the hat. This feature makes the boonie versatile and suitable for use in all seasons, as the vegetation adapts to your surroundings. Layering vegetation and scrim kits can also decrease your thermal signature.
Brim
The vegetation loops along the brim can also be used to attach our separately available mosquito netting, providing protection from insects while further disrupting your outline.
Crown
Layering vegetation on the crown can provide shade and an insulating air barrier, helping to keep your head cooler under direct sunlight.
Headband
The wider vegetation loops along the headband are an integral part of the size adjustment system, while also serving as functional loops for attaching vegetation.
Optional Customization
Velcro
Additional Velcro to attach things like Patches, Ex-fogs, IR Strobes etc.
